The Son radiates God’s own Glory and expresses the very character of God, and He sustains everything by the power of His command. When He had cleansed us from our sins, He sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the Majestic God in Heaven. Hebrews 1:3
Remember that song, “He’s got the whole world in His hands?” This verse in Hebrews makes me want to sing “He’s got the whole world in His “Mouth?” From the very beginning in the book of Genesis, God created the heavens and the earth simply by “speaking”, “Let there be...”
Jesus cleansed us from our sins then sat down at the right hand of God where He holds the universe, by the power of His Word! He sustains everything by the mighty power of HIS command! Wow, How about that?! I’m sure some of you are saying, “I can’t even get my dog to bring me the newspaper or my child to obey me, let alone command a universe!”
What makes this so amazing is that there is NOTHING we experience, nothing we go through, nor endure that has slipped past God because He is holding the universe by the power of His Word! Psalm 138:2 says “….For you have magnified Your Word above all Your Name.”
We are part of the universe which means He is holding you and me also by the power of His Word. If His Word can suspend an entire universe, what can it do for your life? What can His Word do for your storm? I challenge you to begin to declare His Word over your life today and experience God perform His Word.
Here is why we can stand on the promises of God, this is why we can be sure nothing will come into our lives that God is unaware of. I am NOT saying, He sends the bad stuff our way, because He does NOT, but I am saying that at times He will allow things to come(the book of Job)…..but it CANNOT prosper beyond what God “allows.” Isaiah 54:17 How we position ourselves in these moments speak of our maturity, vigilance, and will. Job purposed to trust God no matter what as he declared “..though He slay me, yet will I trust Him.” Job:13:15
Prayer
Thank You Lord that nothing happens in my life that catches You off guard. Thank You Lord that you hold the universe by the power of Your Word. Help me daily to trust You. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen!
