Hey There!

I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. For as the earth brings forth its bud, As the garden causes the things that are sown in it to spring forth, So the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations. Isaiah 61:10-11

I watched a movie with my neice a couple of weeks ago called “The Martian”. In this movie, Matt Damon, who plays Mark Watney, is left on Mars by his space crew. He’s thought to have died after sustaining a terrible blow from the debris of a vicious storm. The space crew searches briefly for him but with the storm so intense they decide not to lose anyone else and very sadly leave Mark behind. They begin their journey home completely unaware that Mark, though badly wounded, was still alive.

Mark knows the shuttle won’t return to Mars for another 4 years so he must find a way to survive. He brilliantly displays his botany skills by growing a potato garden in the space station on Mars, using his own feces and that of his crew members for fertilization. Listen! God knows how to sustain you even if it means using your own mess. (A nugget from my friend Sandi) thank you Sandi, 😀preach girl!

Mark welcomes his “first plant ever to bud on Mars” with joy, knowing he can now eat and possibly survive until the shuttle returns. With two simple words Mark expresses his overwhelming joy and immense relief, while softly caressing his newly budded leaf he leans over and says, “Hey there!”

The space crew eventually find out Mark is alive and return to get him. They must connect at a portal in space where he must be “thrust” in order to make the connection. Mark makes this statement which gave me such a picture of what happens when we praise and worship Jesus. Mark said, “I will use the atmosphere to thrust me.” That statement resonated with me as our worship creates an atmosphere that will thrust us from the atmosphere of difficulties, devastation, and confusion into an atmosphere of love, peace, and Joy in the Holy Ghost.

Do you have broken hearts or broken lives? Do you feel as if you are in a place much like Mars, where nothing is growing, nothing is blooming, nothing is moving but storms? Do you feel like you’ve been blasted by the debris of circumstances, wounded or left for dead?

We forever have reason to rejoice in the Lord GREATLY!!! Jesus delivered us from the pit of our sin and mess, into everlasting life and hope.

Jesus has redeemed us, clothed us with garments of salvation and has covered us with His Robe of Righteousness. Praise automatically bursting from our hearts, even in the midst of our difficulties, devastation, and confusion, as we rejoice in being called out of darkness and into His marvelous light 1Peter 2:9. He causes righteousness and praise to spring forth, bringing overwhelming joy and immense relief, causing others to see Jesus and say, “Hey There!”

What a precious promise, “As the garden causes the things that are sown in it to spring forth, so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all nations."

Prayer

Thank you Jesus, our Righteousness, for Your amazing sacrifice that has brought me new life and hope. Help me create the atmosphere that thrusts not only myself, but others into Your Awesome Presence. In Your Name I Pray, Amen!
