The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, He will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you. Romans 8:11
After leaving the synagogue that day, Jesus went to Simon’s home, where He found Simon’s mother-in-law very sick with a high fever. “Please heal her,” everyone begged. Standing at her bedside, he rebuked the fever, and it left her. And she got up at once and prepared a meal for them. Luke 4:38-39
I was talking with my sister the other day and she was sharing how the flu has been so rampant this year, she even said some people were actually dying from it. There are so many reasons sickness and disease comes to households and families. Let’s face it, we live in a fallen world. But doing nothing can sometimes lead to just more nothing and though we are NOT the Healer, Christ in us IS Healer.
Most often, after reading stories like this one in Luke it is easy to say, “Well of course the fever left. After all, it was Jesus who commanded it to leave." While that is true, Romans 8:11 is telling us that we have the very same Spirit in us that raised Jesus from the dead. That’s a powerful declaration of Truth!!!
So, why not just open our mouths and speak to the mountain, whatever it may be and tell it “BE REMOVED and be thrown into the sea.” Matthew 6:10. We can open our mouths and command sickness to leave our body. When we have Jesus living on the inside of us, we already have Resurrection Life!!! To allow sickness and disease to have its way in us without a fight, would be like carrying the greatest loaded weapon of Healing in our arsenal and yet deciding not to use it. What kind of sense would that make? Jesus The Healer lives in us!
“Thy Kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven” is a model prayer and The Will of Our Father. He wants us to experience the glory of God in the earth, even through each other. When we speak in faith believing God and believing His Word, we may not always get the outcome we desire, but this is why it says “Thy Will Be Done,” not my will. We release The Glory of God in the earth by releasing and speaking in the authority of the very same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead. Jesus is Resurrection and Life so be made well, be made whole in The Mighty Name of Jesus!!!
Prayer
Our Father Who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come Thy Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for Thine is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory forever. Amen!
