For Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., it just seems he wouldn't allow injustice to breed hatred or evil within him, it seems as if he didn't let evil conquer him or win. He had every opportunity just like the next guy to return evil with evil, to return hate with hate, but instead he chose to love and to trust that the Word of God would prevail, that love would not fail. How very grateful I am today for his life and legacy!
Yes evil exists, but it doesn’t win. I know many would drop their jaw in disbelief at that statement because I'm quite sure we all could share numerous stories and situations that ”seem” to scream the very opposite. In fact, just by looking around at events in 2017 - shootings, catastrophes, disasters - sure, it looks to most like evil is winning. But, the TRUTH is, God is Love and love has already won! Jesus died, conquered death, hell and the grave, rose again and His love has already won it ALL. Love never fails.
So how does this scripture “love never fails” become practical and relevant to a tragedy or circumstance you or I may be facing, or may have faced in the past? The answer is as simple as choosing to love God and to love people. You then can know that even in your darkest situations, when you abide in Christ Jesus, it is not over no matter what it looks like or how things may appear. When we are in Christ Jesus He can even turn pain into purpose. You will see your son or daughter again, you will laugh again, you will rebuild, you will heal, you will win! In fact, when we put our hope and trust in Jesus, He can restore all that we've thought was lost! He can restore and He can resurrect.. He IS Victory so you can rejoice with Jesus. It's a win-win! 😊
A question I've asked myself lately when I run into adversity, trials, challenges, obstacles, etc. is, “Lord, how does love win in what I’m facing right now?” You should try it, ask that question in your situations. It will blow your mind what the Lord will show you to do, say or even pray. Now, when you ask, let love answer, let love respond. God(Love) will escort you right into His answer.
As we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday today, I pray that we here in America by God's abundant Grace will choose to love. I pray we conquer evil by doing good and by God’s Grace we do not allow evil to conquer us. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s legacy of love in pursuit of equality and unity, not division, is a testimony to the strength and power of love. Do we as a nation still have racial issues? Sure, but hatred, division, and evil never win in the end. Love does!!!

Thank you Jesus for Your victory win! Thank you for your love that never fails and that by Your Grace I can conquer evil by doing good. Evil will NOT conquer me. In Your beautiful name, Jesus, I pray. Amen!
